Educational OffersIn our museum you will find a wide spectrum of educational offers:
When visiting the permanent exhibition area you may want to have:
a introductory talk, guiding you through the exhibition, with questionnaires for students with evaluation, film presentations, and follow-up discussions.
Length: approx. 3 hours.
When choosing a guided tour you may want to learn in more detail about the following places:
the historical centre of Allendorf, the Jewish cemetery, the different colonies and the grounds of some former camps of the ammunition factories of the DAG and the WASAG, the production plant of the DAG, the memorial place Münchmühle (a camp which housed forced laborers and from August 1944 served as an outwork-camp of the concentration camp of Buchenwald with 1,000 Jewish female inmates from Hungary), and the redevelopment grounds of the poisonous waste.
Length: approx. 2 – 3 hours (we suggest taking the tour by bus, equipped with a microfone, or by car, as there is a bit of a distance to be covered).
In our seminar room we offer workshops and courses where you can study different topics. We provide the necessary sets of records and documents in a folder (also with questionnaires for students).
From our multi media you can choose and watch sport films and movies on the subject of the period of National Socialism, armaments industry, and forced labor.
Why not borrow some interesting books from our library which carries almost all topics with regard to the NS-period and the postwar-period.
Last but not least our City-ralley, especially interesting for kids who want to find out more!
Of course, you can combine some of the above options depending on what you are most interested in and on the type of visit you plan: either a short visit, spending a whole day with us, or participating in a seminar, for example.
We recommend, however, making a call before your visit, so that we can help you plan your itinerary for the day.
